The Strength Through Peace Committee of CJPE was formed in response to the militaristic reaction of many Americans to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.  Our goal is to promote a spirit of peace and reconciliation during this difficult time.  The Strength Through Peace committee provides a community for peace-minded people to connect with one another, discuss ideas for promoting peace, and replace feelings of isolation as pacifists with a sense of empowerment.   In addition, the committee provides a forum for reaching out and fostering understanding among people who may be struggling with the concept of pacifism.  We hope to build bridges among faith communities and other like-minded organizations.  We support people of all faiths and backgrounds, especially the Islamic community, in efforts toward reconciliation and peace.
