This is an open invitation to
Greens around the country and all over the world to
join us on Saturday, August 28th, 2004 in New York
City for "A Green World is Possible: A Festival of
Non-Violence, Ecology, Democracy, Social and
Economic Justice" at Washington Square Park in the
West Village of Manhattan.

The Green Party Office in Manhattan working in
conjunction with the Green Party of the United
States and the Green Party of New York State is
proud to announce the list of speakers and
performers for "A Green World Is Possible" festival
to be held Saturday, August 28th from Noon to 6pm in
historic Washington Square Park.
After months of negotiation with
the city of New York Parks and Police departments a
small group of dedicated Green Party activists were
able secure the necessary permits to hold their
response to the Republican National Convention, with
the aid of the New York Civil Liberties Union.
Billed as a safe and peaceful
festival of the four pillars of the worldwide Green
Party movement, organizers hope to provide festival
goers with a variety of music, speakers, and
informational tables reflecting many of the
important issues our members are working on. Among
the activities planned for the festival are free
Yoga classes, a Presidential mudsling, a 20ft tall
Pinocchio George Bush and old time soapbox free
speech areas.

Green Party Candidate for U.S Senate in New York,
Medea Benjamin, founder of Global Exchange and Code
Pink, Peter Camejo, Independent candidate for
Vice-President with Ralph Nader, Charles Shaw, Peace
Action Committee of the Green Party of the
U.S.,Gloria Mattera, Co-Chair of the Green Party of
New York State, Rebecca Rotzler, Green Party Elected
Official from New Paltz, NY, Dana Beal, marijuana
activist and founder of Cures Not Wars, Efia
Nwangaza, Candidate for US Senate in South Carolina,
Bill Douglas, 9-11 Truth Project, Rebecca White,

A musical tribute to the
activist history of Washington Square Park will be
MCÕd by the infamous Yippie Pie Man Aaron Kay and
will feature political singer/songwriter David
Rovics, along with number of local New York City
musical acts: the Stockyard Stoics, Casey Neil Trio,
rapper Tah From Da Bush, The Byzintines, CIti-zen
and Black Dawn.
